Todays lesson was studying the first two steps to spin loops on the Seven Sons of Freestyle DVD. This consists of a slow carve into a gybe with the rig forward to pivot you as you're half way through.

The wind picked up about 3 pm so we rigged a bit bigger fearing the false alarm of yesterday. I went for a Manic 5.3 and a Skate 111 and was pretty quickly stacked. We soon abandoned to loops as we were way overpowered and went for body drags instead. After a few pointers I was claiming a few though not planing - but damn close. After the lesson was over I changed down to a 4.7 and a Starboard Acid 88 and sailed until the wind died. Tried a few of the spin loop exercises as the wind dropped and it seems to work as a roll in the water with your kit (even the board if you slam gybe). Back to the bar again and I was appreciating those trips to the gym whilst I was without transport over the last 5 weeks. Another excellent day.
